I have the same concern as the previous reviewer. the color is more black than rubbed oil bronze. it still looks ok, especially if you are purchasing other products from the same line, but if you are looking to match the existing fixtures in your home, you need to make sure it will match the rest of the house. hope, this helps.

We just bought this light, and was a little dissappointed with the color. It looks more black than rubbed bronze. The globes are pretty but the rest of the color is black with what looks like a copper color painted around the edge. Definately not rubbed bronze. I just hope it looks ok with all my other rubbed bronze things I ordered. For the price though it is ok.  Great looks for less, By

I had bought other HH Berkshire in the past and they look great in our dining and foyer. They look great in our bathrooms. Who would think they cost lest than bucks. I agree that the color is really not oil rubbed bronze,more like dark gray with a touch of copper, but when you have it on its not that noticable. It’s was a great deal! Plus HH customer service is good. |

I’m a tiny bit disappointed. The chandelier is not quite as nice as the picture. The crystals and the decorative leaves are great, but the metal frame is a little flimsy and cheap. But what can you expect for 0? I wish now I had spent a little more for a better product. Still, it’s pretty and a good size and I’m sure it will look a lot better once it’s hanging on the ceiling and lit up. A month later: the chandelier is now up in my new guest bathroom, and to my surprise it looks GREAT! It gives the room just the right touch of luxury. The crystals sparkle beautifully and you can’t even see the frame, which is the part I didn’t like. Since my initial reaction was a bit negative, it seemed only fair to reveal my change of mind. I really love this little chandelier. From a prior review I was aware that it was on the diminutive side, but that suited where I intended to place it. It has just enough crystals, and the metal features are just about right. The bulbs are very bright so we are going to install a dimmer switch. The only downside is that I had to clean my arched window above the door, because with this light you can see how dirty it was. Now, with the clean window, the chandelier looks great from the street at night. MUCH better than the dated glass-and-brass fixture that was there before. |

Question by LoStOnE: What is the best type of lighting for restaurant dining rooms?
This restaurant has no windows and lighting is an issue. We want a comfortable atmosphere with lighting that helps relieve the cave-like feeling the restaurant has with no windows. This is a high quality restaurant, so dim lighting is usually wanted, but we don’t want the lighting to be too dim. any suggestions?

I think that the lighting could be dim but not too dim, or you can have regular lighting but not too bright…whatever you think you like and suits your customers.

Comes with a 15-year warranty; many in this price range come with only a one-year warranty and are flimsy by comparison. Good-quality materials. Even my landlord thinks it’s well-made, which is good because he paid for it. The slight reddish cast to the “bronze” finish and the ivory glass go well with the aged redwood walls of my California cottage. The design could adapt to classic or contemporary, casual or formal surroundings, though. Very pleased with this chandelier.

I am very pleased with my purchase, it looks very nice and elegent in the hallway. I bought 4 lights( different style, spent under 0)from Hardware House and upgraded the lights in the hallway, very good investment. Only this chandelier itself will cost over 0 if you buy it from local store.

The lighting itself seems fine (good quality) but there were no instructions, no chain, no way to hook it to the existing ceiling piece after the old lighting was removed and no way to mount it directly to the ceiling to cover the hole. It took all day, 2 trips to the hardward store and some creative ways to hook it to the ceiling. I thought we would get a complete lighting set where all we needed to do was take the existing chandelier down and put this one up. Not so. |

Question by Ferg2k: How many watts of lighting do I need over a dining table?
I foolishly bought a pendant lamp with only a 100 watt halogen light bulb for my dining area. Now that I’ve decided to replace it with a bigger chandalier, how many watts of light should I be looking at? I do have a Lutron dimmer, so it’ll be adjustable. Is total wattage even what I should be looking at? Is there some other measurement to consider?
Because my dining room has a sloping roof, I can really only do a single chandalier or pendant lamp. A single pendant lamp will never be bright enough — so that’s out. Most chandaliers tend to have lamp shades that focus upwards, whereas I know lighting for a dining table should mostly focus downwards — to draw people into the dining area.
What are my options? For what it’s worth, I very much want a modern, contemporary design.

40w good for 4 lamp fixtures thru 6 lamps. 60 w if frosted

I mean, the lighting in movies makes everything look more real. But the lighting in commercials and TV shows makes things look really cheesy and fake. What’s the difference in the way the lighting is set up for movies and for TV shows?

Movies have a higher budget. A higher budget means better special effects, and that makes for a more realistic look.
