For the money these aren’t bad. If you have the electricity to them switched on, they’re medium bright, but they have a motion sensor and get brighter when something moves nearby.
I’m such a dip that when I first had them installed and my husband was out of town, I could see from inside that they all of a sudden got bright late one night and I was worried that maybe somebody was outside. Luckily, it was just the damn cat, but I feel it is necessary to let a buyer know to expect that. I like the warning too that someone’s approaching the door.
From the specs provided on Amazon I worried that the lights might be a little small. They were a little small. But overall, they really get the job done and look nice and blend in with exterior decor without calling too much attention to them. Some people have some pretty extravagant exterior lights on their not-so-extravagant exteriors and I think that looks bad.
Overall, these were a nice solution to our outdated brass fixtures outside with the added benefit of the motion sensor. Plus they were not so fancy that they make my husband feel like his wife owns him.
Another thing, if you purchase several be sure to inspect your lights carefully when they arrive. We noticed about a month after we put them up that one is crooked/warped. We didn’t want to take it down and mess with the wiring again so we just dealt with it but we always notice now. Luckily it is one on the side that you can’t really see from the front, but it’s definitely better to see this before you install them!

CONS: still can’t figure out how to swivel motion sensor on top of light (not able to use it with standard
CFL bulb so I don’t care about this feature any way).
Installation: I’ve never worked with electricity but found the instructions easy to follow. Helpful to look at how old light is installed to see how to do it. Be sure to identify and turn off correct breaker switch. First light took 1.5 hours, second one about 45 minutes.
Bulb: must purchase dimmable CFL or motion sensor won’t work (not a CON since not the lights fault)
I use a regular 9watt CFL and don’t care about the motion sensor since I’m saving money using the CFL over an incandescent.
Bottom Line: I’m buying two more lights to install in my other place! This will save you a lot of money and if you leave town, turn the lights on when no one is home! Good for security/safety and if you want to have light when you get back from the bar crawl!
